Services held for Milton W. Ebel

Funeral services for Milton W. Ebel were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2001, at the United Church of Primghar at Pnmghar, Iowa, with Rev. Ginger Moore officiating. "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace" were sung by the congrega­tion. The organist was Mary Lou Wittrock. The casket bearers were Lee Ebel, Robert Ebel, Butch Bergendahl, Jim Ebel, Linda Bergendahl and Ben Ebel. Interment was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Pnmghar, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Milton William Ebel, the son of Charles C. and Martha Clardy Ebel Sr., was born August 26, 1913, in Chesterfield, Illinois. He moved with his family to the O'Brien County, Iowa, area where he received his education.

On February 9, 1939, he was united in marriage to Eunice Powers in Hartley, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed west of Primghar, later moving to a farm east of Pnmghar.

Milton and Eunice purchased an acreage by Gaza and lived there for a number of years until 1995, when they retired and moved into Primghar He had been a resident of the Primghar Care Center since September of 2000.
He passed away at the care center on Monday, May 21, 2001, reaching the age of 87 years, 8 months and 25 days. He was a member of the United Church of Pnmghar.

Milton is survived by his wife, Eunice of Primghar; four sons and their wives: Lee and Maxine Ebel of Tama, Iowa, Jim and Bonnie Ebel of Aurelia, Iowa, Robert and Shirley Ebel of Siena Vista, Arizona, and Ben and Connie Ebel of Primghar; one daughter and her husband, Linda and Butch Bergendahl of Spencer, Iowa; also 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Ebel of Pnmghar; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Emerson of Milwaukie, Oregon; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, two sisters and an infant granddaughter.
