Marie M. Jordan

Services in memory of Marie M. Jordan were held at the United Methodist Church in Hartley at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 16, 1996. Rev. Dr. Carl Klein officiated. Casket bearers were Shorty Jordan, Neal Jordan, Tom DeSorbl, Brad Taylor, Larry Muilenburg and Robby Jordan. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Sanborn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Marie M. (Jones) Jordan was born at Bonham, Texas on December 23, 1908. She lived her youth and received her education at Ada, Oklahoma.

She was united in marriage to Riley Jordan at Ada, Oklahoma on November 26, 1926 and to this union nine children were born. Following their marriage they lived at Bonham, Texas until moving to California in 1944.

Riley died in 1957. Marie returned to make her home in Oklahoma in 1969 and resided there until moving to Hartley in 1983.

Marie enjoyed quilting and had made many quilts for her family. She was an accomplished seamstress and will also be remembered for making delicious cookies.

She died at Marian Health Center at Sioux City on February 13, 1996. She is survived by her children: Bill Jordan of Henderson, Nevada, Frances Course of Chapman, Kansas, Ray Jordan of Hartley, Corie Muilenburg of Hartley, John Jordan of Big Fort, Montana, Kathleen Wright of Hartley, and Lois Garner of Lincoln, California; 38 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers: Arthur Jones of Ada, Oklahoma, Charles Jones of Killeen, Texas, and William Jones of Richardson, Texas; and one sister, Noreen Smith of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons, Eugene and Bob.
