CLARENCE L. KRIKKE 1935 — 2006

Clarence Lester Krikke. the son of Minard and Coba (DeVries) Krikke, was born on October 28. 1935. He lived his youth and received his education at a country school in the Ocheyedan area. Clarence worked with his father on the family farm until entering the United States Army in July of 1958. He was discharged in June of 1960.

On March 23. 1961 he was united in marriage to Alice Youngdahl at Ocheyedan. Ia. The couple farmed for seven years in the Ocheyedan area be­fore moving to their present farm north of Sanborn where they have lived for the past 38 years.

Clarence passed away at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon. Ia. on March 13, 2006. at the age of 70 years, four months, 15 days.

Survivors Include his wife. Alice of Sanborn; his children and grandchildren: Daryl [redacted] of Sanborn. Linda [redacted] of Sanborn, Judy [redacted] of Primghar; two sisters- Stella (Elmer) Beltman of Sheldon, and Martha Krikke of Sibley; a sister-in-law. LaVera Krikke of Sanborn, a brother-in-law. Harold (MaryLou) Youngdahl of Ocheyedan, an aunt. Louise DeVries of Sanborn, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jake and two infant siblings.

He was a member of the First Presby­terian Church of Sanborn where he had served as elder, trustee, and was presently a deacon. Clarence had many interests and hobbies. He loved to play golf and go to auctions. He was the one the family depended upon to help them whenever there was a need. He enjoyed fixing things, especially small engines and cuckoo clocks. His children and grand­children will always remember him for the love he had for fishing and snowmobillng. That love took them on many trips together. Most of all, his family will remember him for the love he had for them, and for all the precious memories of the times they shared to­gether. He will forever be missed.

Funeral services were held March 17 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sanborn with Pastor Gregg Johnson officiating. Casketbearers were Jeremy Gibbons. Brandon Krikke, Trevor Krikke. Marv Anema, Kevin Diekevers and Dale Fulk. Honorary bearers were Gene Fulk. Charles Bosma, Lindsey Gibbons, Katie Gibbons, Whitney Smythe. Adam Smythe, Andrew Smythe and Nicholas Smythe. Congregational hymns were "Blessed Assurance," "Because He Lives." "Oh That Will Be Glory for Me." and "How Great Thou Art." Arlene Dykstra was organist.

Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn, with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
