ELMER RICHTER

Funeral services were hold Saturday, Jan. 27 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheldon for Elmer Richter, 51, Sheldon. Msgr. C. L. Kaleher and Father Robert Letting officiated. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Sheldon with the Andringa Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He was born Jan. 5, 1922 at Ashton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Richter. He attended St. Joseph School at Ashton. He spent from 1942-1945 in the Navy and lived in Sibley from 1947 to 1957.

On April 9, 1947, he was united in marriage to Marian Klosterman at Ashton. In 1957 they moved to Sheldon where he was owner of Richter’s True Value Hardware. He was a member of the Sheldon Legion, the Chamber of Commerce, Eagles and also a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors are his wife; three daughters Kathy and Mary of Minneapolis, Minn., and Paula at home; eight sons, Steven of Merrill, Wisc., Gregg of Cedar Falls, and Dan, David, Tom, Kevin, Richard and Robert all at home; one brother, Norbert Richter of Sheldon; and two sisters, Mrs. Victor Marnach of Sheldon and Mrs. Dan Luton of Grand Island, Nebr.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son Timothy.
