Alex Stewart, for over twenty years deputy sheriff of O'Brien county, died suddenly Wednesday morning at about 7.50 o'clock. Mr Stewart was driving to work In his car when he stopped for the stop sign on highway 59, there to be stricken by a heart attack. His lifeless body was found slumped over behind the steering wheel, by Howard Davis, county recorder who also was on his way to the court house. Mr Stewart had reached the age of 70, most of which was spent in O'Brien county

He is survived by his wife and daughters.

Deceased served this county faithfully for many years. Before belng made deputy sheriff he served as county treasurer. He was well known through­out every township and a finer gentle­man never lived than Alex Stewart.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Primghar, and the Congregational church.

No funeral arrangements have been made at this writing.
