MAGGIE ANDRINGA 1894 —1990

Maggie Elgersma, the daughter of Jake and Jeltje (Duimstra) Elgersma, was born at Grand Rapids, Mich, on Jan. 28, 1894. She lived the first seven years of her life in Grand Rapids and then moved with her family to Sioux County, Iowa where she received her education.

On March 11,1913, she was united in marriage to Jake Andringa and to this union six children were born. They lived their entire married life in the Sanborn area where they were engaged in farming. In 1944 they retired and moved into Sanborn. Jake passed away on Nov. 11, 1964.

Maggie entered Prairie View Retirement Home at Sanborn in October, 1983 and she passed away at Baum-Harmon Memorial Hospital at Primghar, Iowa on June 29, 1990.
Maggie is survived by her children: Mrs. Charles (Jeanette) Boone, Fred Andringa and Charles Andringa, all of Sanborn; 12 grandchildren, 29 great­grandchildren, two great-great-grand­children, and two sisters: Florence Andringa of Boone and Mrs. Edward (Alice) Boone of Sanborn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Jake and Pete, one son in infancy, four brothers and one sister.

She was a member of the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church and a charter member of the Loyal Workers.

Funeral services were held July 2 at the Christian Reformed Church in Sanborn with Dr. Richard Venema officiating. Casket bearers were Jack Andringa, Jim Andringa, Allen Andringa, Jay Andringa, Chad Andringa, Wayne Vander Tuig and honorary bearer was Erwin Bosma. Congregational hymns were "My God How Wonderful Thou Art," "Blessed Assurance," and "By the Sea of Crystal." Organist was Mrs. June Horstman. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
