Funeral services for Mary Ellen Scott were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 1993, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiating. The casket bearers were Ralph Kruger, Norman Meyer, Bill Johannsen, Brian Scott, Leroy Hansen, Denis Schirck, Loren Johannsen and Brent Scott. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, IA, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina.
OBITUARY

Mary Ellen Scott, the daughter of Herman and Rose (Peters) Schultz, was born September 21, 1917, in Paullina, Iowa. She received her education in Primghar and later Paullina schools. She graduated from Paullina High School.

On February 16, 1942, she was united in marriage to Delbert Scott in Las Vegas, Nevada. After their marriage the couple lived in San Diego, California, and Yuma, Arizona, before moving to Westside, Iowa.

The couple operated Scotty's Truck Stop for many years before retiring to the Phoenix, Arizona, area. The couple moved to Paullina in 1983.

Her husband preceded her in death on May 24, 1992, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She continued to make her home in Paullina until passing away on Thursday, August 19, 1993, at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City reaching the age of 75 years, 10 months and 28 days.

She was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mary Ellen leaves to cherish her memory her son, Larry of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; two grandsons, Brian and Brent Scott of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; also a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Delbert and Kermit.
