AMANDA REIFFENBERGER

Amanda Louise Reiffenberger, nee Schueder, the daughter of Nick and Helena Wittrock Sch­ueder, was born June 13, 1903 at Paullina. Iowa. She passed away at the Hartley Community Hospital on July 6. 1969, at the age of 66 years and 23 days.

She was raised in the Paullina area and attended rural schools near Calumet. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Calumet, Iowa.

On August 2S, 1920, she was united in marriage to Fred Reiffenberger at Cherokee, Iowa. To them were born two daughters: Bernice and Lois, and one son Francis.

The couple farmed in the Paullina and Gaza area until 1933. From 1938 until 1966 they made their home in the Hartley area and then moved to Everly. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband. Fred: her children Bernice, Mrs. Mervyn Stearns, Hartley; and Lois Roberts, Wichita, Kansas, and Francis of Austin, Minn.: 15 grandchildren. four great grandchildren: one sister: Clara, Mrs. Walter Graesing, Paullina, other relatives and her many friends.

Services were held from the Trinity United Church of Christ on Wednesday. July 9 with Rev. Keith Scott, Hartley and Rev. Fred Harris, Everly. officiating. Honorary pallbearers were L. W. Wagner, Hobart Putnam, William Hansen, Albert Koech-ert. John Kooper and William Menke. Pallbearers were Arlo Snider. Bill Buddingh, John Hoeppner. Rich McCarty, Herman Mohni and Alfred Bunker. She is at rest in Pleasant View Cemetery. Hartley, Iowa. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
