DIED AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
W. E. Guse Succumbs to Attack of Pneumonia on Sunday — Ill but a Few Days

Many friends in this place were saddened when they learned of the death of William E. Guse, who passed away on Sunday evening at his home here after an illness of one week, with pneumonia.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock at the home and were in charge of Rev. E. G. Jeungle, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran church. Interment was made in Roseland cemetery. A large concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to the last resting place and, to the best of their ability, testified the regard in which this young man was held in the community. .

William E. Guse was born in Sanborn, Iowa on August 30, 1891, thus being a little past 27 years of age at the time of his death. Here he grew to manhood and, after attending the public schools, went into railroad work and at the time of his death was an engineer.

On November 5, 1914, he was united in marriage to Mary Powers and to this union were born three children, Robert, Dorothy and Bernard, who, with the widow, are left to mourn the untimely death of their loved one. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Guse, two sisters, Minnie and Mrs. John Neitzke, and one brother, Bernard, all of this place.

Mr. Guse was an industrious young man and extremely well thought of among his acquaintances, all of whom will unite in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives.
