Darwin D. Bos (1950-1977)

Darwin D. Bos, son of Henry and Elsina Bos, was born in Orange City, Iowa on December 5, 1950. He attended the rural schools near Ireton, Ia. and in 1962 he moved with his parents to a farm near Melvin, Ia. He graduated from the Melvin High School in 1968.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Walker of Hartley, la. on October 10, 1969 at the Christian Reformed Church at Hartley, la. After their marriage they farmed near Hartley, la. until 1973 when they moved to Sanborn, la. where he was engaged in construction work.

He passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital at Sheldon, la. on September 20, 1977 at the age of 26 years, nine months and 15 days.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Sanborn; two sons: Steven and David, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bos, Jr. of Hartley, Ia; two sisters: Mrs. Pete (Gloria) Haarsma of Hartley and Mrs. Duane (Janet) Hasche of Hartley, la.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Henry, in 1941.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sanborn, Iowa and a member of the Sanborn Ambulance Team as an EMT.

Casket bearers were Willard Boscaljon, Dale Boer, Gene Van Veldhuizen, Rodney Jacobsma, Robert Rook, and John Hengeveld. Mrs. Gene Van Veldhuizen, Mrs. Ivan Van Veldhuizen and Mrs. Donald Davis sang two hymns: "Well with my Soul" and "O That will be Glory". Mrs. Wm. Sterk was organist.
