SERVICES HELD FOR SYBIL KIRLIN [sic]

Funeral services were held Monday, January 28 for Sybil Kirlin. Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated at the services held at the Trinity United Church of Christ. The casket bearers were Gale Birdsall, Harlan Goetsch, Donald Hansen, Ray Ihry, Don Treimer and Orlin Fahren-krog. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge. of the arrangements.

Sybil A. Kirlin, the daughter of Henry and Arzella Kester Bakerink, was born July 8, 1899 at Fontanelle. Iowa. She attended rural school near her childhood home.

She was united in marriage to Leao Kirlin on January 8, 1918 at Fontanelle. They became the parents of two children.

She had made her home at Hartley since 1940 and was affiliated with the Trinity United Church of Christ, a Past Matron of Golden Sheaf Chapter, O.E.S and worked for the Knapp Jewelry Store for many years.

She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on January 24, 1980 at the age of 80.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and five brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Herman DeYoung of Hartley and her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Phyllis Kirlin of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Russell, Stanley and Carla Kirlin; one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Kirlin; two sisters, Mrs. Jackie (Florence) Frank of Fontanelle and Mrs. Ernest (Cressie) Diers of Creston, as well as other relatives and many friends.
