Elizabeth Rost, wife of Christian Rost, was born in Neiderhone, Germany the 4th of October, 1835, was married to the now bereaved husband the 8th day of October, 1861. This marriage was blessed with eight children, five girls and four boys. One of the boys preceded her a few years ago.

The bereaved father with his seven children and six grandchildren are left to mourn her loss.

About three years ago they came to Hartley where they have since made their home, but now the kind mother has been taken to her heavenly home above. As a wife and a mother in the family, and as a sister in the church, she will be missed.

She died the 8th day of October, 1895, her age was sixty years and four days.

May the Lord comfort the bereaved husband and children and grant them a happy reunion in heaven.

Funeral services were conducted by the writer and Rev. Ginn. -Wm. Grobe
