Mrs. Henry Bobzien

Mrs. Henry Bobzien nee Emma Charlotte Jergemeyer, the daughter of Louis and Mary Hilden Jurgemeyer, was born July 30, 1975 at Blairstown in Benton County, Iowa. She passed away Oct. 5, 1966 in Hartley, Iowa, at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 4 days. She had been ill for about two weeks preceding her death.

She was baptized and confirmed in St. Martin's Lutheran Church, and attnded the cherry Grove School near her childhood home in Benton County.

On May 29, 1895, she was united in marriage to Henry Bobzien at Blairstown. Two children were born to this untion, Irvin and Evelyn. In 1900 Mr. and Mrs. Bobzien moved to O'Brien County and located 7 miles south of Hartley. Three years later they moved to a farm 3 miles west of Hartley, where Mr. Bozien passed away in 1933. She continued living on the farm until the spring of 1944, when she moved to Hartley, which had since been her home.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hartley.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were her parents; three sisters, Mrs. John Dahnke, Mrs. Louis Bobzien and Mrs. Elmer Mayhew; two brothers, Louis Jurgemeyer and William Jurgemeyer.

Survivors include her son, Irvin, of Leota, Kansas, and daughter Evelyn (Mrs. Arnold Clausen) of Hartley; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren as ell as nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Oct. 8 at St. Paul's Lutheran church with Rev. A.O. Bleeke officiating.

Pallbearers were Wm. P. Meier, Adolph Henning, Frank Albert, Harry Williams, Frank Wille and Wm. Brandt.

Interment was made in Pleasant View cemetery, Hartley, with Baumgarten Funeralll Home making arrangements.
