MRS. LOUIS ADOLPH

Mrs. Louis Adolph was born Lena Meehlhause, daughter of John and Marie Meehlhause, on January 8, 1883, at Rochelle, Illinois. She passed away at a Sioux City hospital on February 19, 1969, following a lingering illness, at the age of 86.

She moved with her parents to Dysart, Iowa, and later to Hartley. She was united in marriage to Louis Adolph on Jan. 10, 1901, at Hartley. To this union were born two children, Clarence and Alyce.

The family moved to Sioux City in 1917 and then to Chicago in 1928. Following retirement, they moved to Sioux City to make their home. She had joined the fellowship of the Methodist church in Hartley. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1963, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

She is remembered in love by her children, Clarence H. Adolph of Chicago and Mrs. James (Alyce) Bushar of Sioux City; a brother, Rudolph Meehlhause of Hartley; a grandson, a great-grandson, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Hartley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Hymns, "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by Mrs. Carl Ruby and Mrs. Lyle Shinkle with Mrs. Paul Linder at the organ. Pallbearers were Marvin Host, Leroy Jones, Eldred Frick, Arlo Snider, Kenneth Groen and Adolph Boetel. Interment was in Pleasant View cemetery at Hartley.
