Funeral services for William A. Meyer were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 1992, at the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, IA, with Rev. Paul Soderquist officiating. The pallbearers were Rodney Carlson, Larry Poppema, Herb Stuegelmeier, Jerry Ommen, Steve Carlson, Joshua Ommen and Mike Carlson. The final resting place is Liberty Township Cemetery in Calumet, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina.

OBITUARY

William August Meyer, the son of Henry and Margaretha Huenke Meyer, was born May 25, 1894, in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. He received his education in the Calumet area schools and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On January 14, 1914, he was united in marriage to Adela Thoms in Cherokee County. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Gaza, Paullina and Calumet area.

Four daughters were born to this union: Luetta, Helen, Blanche and an infant daughter, who died in infancy. Adela passed away on April 12, 1928. William continued to farm in the O'Brien County area until retiring in 1940 and moving into Calumet. n 1966, he moved into Paullina. He passed away at the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina on Monday, May 4, 1992, reaching the age of 97 years, 11 months and 9 days.

William leaves to cherish his memory two daughters: Mrs. Luetta Carlson and Mrs. Blanche Pearson, both of Paullina; three grandchildren: Rodney Carlson and his wife, Kaye; Carol and Jerry Ommen and Linda and Larry Poppema; also 8 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Elsie Meyer of Calumet; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters: Helen and an infant daughter; son-in-law, Francis Carlson; great grandson, Mark; great granddaughter, Robin; three brothers and two sisters.

Services held for Nathan Wade Blythe

Funeral services were held for Nathan Wade Blythe at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 1992 at Nevada Baptist Church in Nevada, Iowa. Pastor Robert King was the officiating clergyman. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Nathan was born August 7, 1974. He died on Thursday, April 23, 1992 from severe head injuries he received from a fall from a railroad trestle the previous day.

Nathan is survived by his father, Roger, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his mother and step-father, Philip and Carol Cacek of Nevada; two brothers, Joshua and Nicholas, both at home; his maternal grandparents, Lois Brandt of Nevada and Glen Brandt of Davenport, Iowa; his paternal grandmother of Denver, Colorado; his step-grandparents, Vernon & Gladys Cacek of Sutherland; and several aunts, uncles, & cousins.
