LANGE, BAUER, THOMAS, ANDERSON, CHESLEY, COFFEE

Funeral services for Harold F.
Lange, 55, who died early Thursday
morning at his home of a
self-inflicted gunshot wound,
were held Saturday afternoon at
2 o'clock from the Methodist
Church. The Rev. Warren A.
Bintz was in charge of the services,
directed by the Baumgarten
Funeral Home.

Harold (or Harry), as he was
familiarly known, shot himself
in the chest with a 410-guage
shotgun, shortly after 6 a.m., last
Thursday, April 5, while Mrs.
Lange was momentarily out of
the house. He had been in ill
health for some time, following
a stroke.

A male quartet composed of
Clayton Hill, Nathan Frolkey,
Jim DeBoom and Verlin Gellhaus,
sang "Going Down The
Valley" and "Beyond The Sunset."
Mrs. Nathan Frolkey was
organist.

Serving as pallbearers were
Everett Olhausen, Larry Gilbert,
Everett McCoy, George Daum,
Wayne Farquhar and Arnold Litka.
Mrs. Daum and Mrs. McCoy
took care of the flowers. Burial
was in Waterman cemetery.
Born near Primghar, the deceased
had spent his entire life
in O'Brien County, and for many
years was a resident of the Sutherland
community, first living
on the farm and then later moving
into town.

He had engaged in trucking
for 30 years and was a member
of the Sutherland Commercial
Club.

Survivors are his wife Velma;
three daughters, Mrs. Harry
Bauer of Holstein, Mrs. Ralph
Thomas of South Sioux City, Mary
of Sutherland; a step-daughter,
Mrs. Charles Anderson of
Sutherland; two sons, Duane and
Gerald, both of Sutherland; two
brothers, Herbert of Milford and
Ernest of Portland, Oregon; two
sisters, Mrs. Alta Chesley of
Spencer and Mrs. Alvina Coffee
of Pearidge, Arkansas, eight
grandchildren.
