Last Friday Prof. Nuoffer received from St. Paul the sad intelligence of the demise of a dear, married sister. Both he and his brother, Rev. Nuoffer, left on that evening, via Granville, for the above place in order to attend the funeral which took place Sunday. Pitiless death respects neither age nor position. The whole community sincerely sympathizes with the afflicted survivors.

By request we publish the following necrologue. Amalia Mueller, nee Nuoffer, was born at Eagle Lake, Will county, Illinois, January 6, 1872. In 1885 she came with her parents, Rev. J. F. and Mrs. Nuoffer, to Magnolia, this state. She frequently visited her brother, Rev. Nuoffer of Meriden, and our professor. She married her surviving husband, Otto Mueller, November 7, 1897. In St. Paul, Minnesota, Mr. Mueller engaged in a very remunerative business and everything went the way they wish for till a sudden malady took hold of her and neither attending friends nor careful doctoring could keep grim death away.
