WILLIAM WEE
BORN: January 25, 1950
DIED: December 30, 2012
LOCATION: ESTHERVILLE, Iowa
William Charles Wee (Bill) was born January 25, 1950, the son of Merlyn and Arlene Wee in Estherville, Iowa. He died at The Cass County Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa at the age of 62. Bill lived in Estherville with his parents for the first 17 years. At the age of 17 he moved to Woodward State Hospital in Woodward, Iowa. In 1977 Bill moved to Village Northwest Community in Sheldon, Iowa where he resided and worked for the last 33 years. Bill was inseparable from his younger brother Tom as they lived together until the late 1990's

Those who knew him dearly loved Bill. Bill's charismatic smile, mischievous grin and the twinkle of his eyes were some of his endearing traits. Bill was affectionately called by his family a multitude of nicknames including: Goose, Goose Goose Willy, Galloper, Gunderhauser, Willy Lump Lump, Charlie, and Baldie Beaner.. Bill was a valued and cherished employee within The Village Northwest Industries. He served in many working capacities: caring for puppies, VNWI mailman for the complex, sorting cans and participating in crafts were some of his favorite endeavors. Bill was active whenever his physical abilities allowed. He participated in Special Olympics, earning gold and silver medals in track, football and softball throw. He loved music, riding his bicycle, playing records, walking his dogs and putting puzzles together with his mother, brothers and staff. Some of his most favorite pleasures were smoking cigarettes while drinking coffee, telling knock-knock jokes, riding his bike through the neighborhood-visiting friends, watching The Price is Right and The Wheel of Fortune. Above all Bill cherished holidays and family get togethers held at his family home in Estherville, Iowa.
Despite Bill's multiple challenges in his life: polio, multiple orthopedic surgeries, cancer surgery and renal disease, Bill never complained. During the last seven months battling renal disease and enduring the bodily and emotional changes that came with his medication, the smile and personality, although masked, remained present.

Left to cherish his memories of Bill are brother, Larry and Lori Wee of Omaha, Nebraska; sister in law, Linda Wee of Parkersburg, Iowa; eight nieces and nephews, Kenny Wee of Lincoln, Nebraska; Heather Houchins (Brad) of Kathleen, Georgia; Tiffani (JC) Casto of Omaha; Creighton and Christian Wee, both of Omaha; Jessica (Justin) Uhlenhopp of Parkersburg, Iowa; Koni Wee of Parkersbug; eight great nieces and nephews, Samantha and Rylee Houchins of Kathleen, Georgia; Carrick, Canon and Colt Casto of Omaha and Zoey, Zion and Zada of Parkersburg. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Merlyn and Arlene Wee and three brothers, James(Jim) Wee, Kenny Wee, and Thomas(Tom) Wee.
