Janet "Jeanie" Vander Ploeg 76, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William (Effie Vande Brake) Rons passed away Saturday, April 14, 1990 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center, Sheldon, Iowa.
She was born November 7, 1913 in Sioux Center,Iowa. She graduated from Sioux Center
High School. She married J . A . Vander Ploeg August 16, 1933, in Sioux Center. In 1933 the couple moved to Rock Valley where they owned and operated Vander Ploeg Funeral Home and Furniture Store. In 1944 they moved to Sheldon, Iowa where they owned and operated the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.
Jeanie was a member of United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and F.O.E.
Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Jim, a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Leah) Rohwer of West
Concord, Minnesota; a son, Phil of Sheldon, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Pereboom of
Hawarden, Iowa; a brother, Peter W. Rons of Scottsdale, Arizona; a stepsister, Mrs. Julius (Johanna) DeWit of Canby, Minnesota; a stepbrother, the Rev. Henry Eggink of Sioux Center; five grandchildren; Jim, Julie, Mark, Mike and Jill; and three great-granddaughters, Kari, Kristin, and Kendra. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Mark Steven.
