SHELDON; June Kreykes, 87, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012,
at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.
Memorial Services were Monday, June 25, at First Christian Reformed Church in
Sheldon. The Rev. Kevin Muyskens officiated. Graveside Service was Monday, June 25, at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. The Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service of Sheldon in charge of arrangements for June Kreykes.
June Helen Kreykes was born on June 19, 1925, in Owens, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Jeanette (Tamminga) Wallinga. She lived her youth in Sheldon, Iowa where she attended a country school two miles north of Sheldon. She was united in marriage to Elmer Kreykes of Sheldon, Iowa, on Jan. 15, 1946, in Sheldon. They lived and farmed northeast of Sheldon. The last 10 years they lived at the Christian Retirement Home. June was a member of the First Christ ian Reformed Church in Sheldon where she was active when she was able. June and Elmer enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in south Texas. June enjoyed making afghans, reading, being outdoors and working in her vegetable garden. She loved and enjoyed her family very much. She passed away on Thursday, June 21,2012, at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 66 years: Elmer Kreykes of Sheldon, IA; three sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Doris Kreykes of Sheldon, IA, Keith and Bernice Kreykes of Sheldon, IA, Rick and Barbara Kreykes of Sioux Center, IA; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law: Marvin and Verna Wallinga of Sheldon, IA
She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandchild, Ethan Nyangamoi; one daughter-in-law, Pam Kreykes; two brothers, Harry and Richard; and two sisters, Alice and Gracia.
