Randy Goedken, age 54, of Sheldon, Iowa died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ashton, Iowa. Father John Vakulskas officiating.
Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ashton.
Randall Dean Goedken was born on January 26, 1958 in Sibley, Iowa. He was the son of Cyril and Adeline (Hatting) Goedken. He lived his youth in Ashton, Iowa where he attended school at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Ashton and Sheldon Community High School in Sheldon, Iowa, graduating in 1976.
Randy worked in Orange City, Iowa and in Arizona, as a maintenance man, for 13 years. In 1999, he moved to Sheldon and worked various jobs. He was currently employed by Wassenaar Construction in Sheldon.
Randy enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.
He was a baptized member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ashton.
He died on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, unexpectedly, at his home in Sheldon.
Those left to cherish his memories are two daughters: Jamie and husband Jesus Carrion and their children: Averie, Abel, and Aracelie of Granville, IA, Katie Goedken of Orange City, IA; his father: Cyril Goedken of Sheldon, IA; three brothers; Keith Goedken and special friend Sherri of South Sioux City, NE, Kenny Goedken of Ashton, IA, Glen and wife Kathy Goedken of Sheldon, IA; four sisters: Colleen Alesch of Denison, IA, Karen Johnson of Ashton, IA, Sherri Stange of Omaha, NE, Janelle and husband Doug Fischer of Ashton, IA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Adeline Goedken, and his grandparents.
