Paullina Times - March 1915
The deceased, Catherine Siemsglusz, nee Imwiehe, was born April 28, 1846, in Oerpke, Hannover, Germany. In October 1867 she was united in marriage to Henry Siemsglusz. This very happy union was blessed with five children, one of whom passed into eternity before the mother. In 1890 the Siemsglusz family came to America and located in O'Brien county. In 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Siemsglusz retired from active farm work and moved to Paullina.
Mrs. Siemsglusz never had the pleasure of enjoying good health, especially the last 38 years were spent in more or less illness. The end of all misery came on last Friday morning, March 19. She thus lived to be 69 years, 10 months and 21 days old. Her death is mourned by the bereaved husband, four children, namely, Mrs. D. Proehl, Mrs. Herman Hoger and Otto and Henry, 19 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, one sister and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held at the German Lutheran church on Monday afternoon where a very large number of friends had gathered to pay their due respects to the deceased and cast a last look upon the departed. Interment was at Prairie View cemetery.
