Funeral services for Rex S. Minor, 76, West Liberty, were held June 3, 1995 at the First Church United in West Liberty, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial was in the North Prairie cemetery in West Liberty.
Mr. Minor died June 1 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, following a 9 month illness.
The son of Leland and Winnie Cox Minor, he was born Sept. 21, 1918 in Davis County, Mo. He graduated at Weatherby, Mo. in 1939. He married Pearle Schooley Rogers Dec. 30, 1956 in LeClaire.
Mr. Minor farmed his entire adult life.
He moved to West Liberty in 1948 and was a partner with Harry L. Schooley in the Polled Hereford Cattle Association. Five years later he sold out and went into the hog business. He retired because of failing health. He was later employed as a courier by the Louis Rich Co. in West Liberty for 15 years.
Mr. Minor is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Kenneth and his wife, Linda Minor; and Harry L. Rogers, all of West Liberty; 3 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, a brother, Don and his wife, Mary Minor, Sun City, Ariz.; his mother-in-law, Erna Schooley, West Liberty; a sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Max Minor; and his father-in-law.
