Betty Lou Albrecht 1928-1995

Funeral services for Betty Lou Albrecht, 66, West Liberty, were held May 25, 1995 at First Church United with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Marianne Phelps was the organist and pallbearers were Scott Fridley, Troy Fridley, Jason Gingerich, Justin Gingerich, Michael Fridley and Phillip Gingerich. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mrs. Albrecht died May 23 at her home, following an extended illness.

The daughter of Rex and Naida Royal Mackey, she was born April 5, 1928 in Marengo. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth Mackey, West Liberty. She graduated from West Liberty high school in 1945. She married Robert W. Albrecht July 19, 1946 in Iowa City.

She was employed in the office of Dr. Treadwell Robertson, M.D. in West Liberty for several years.

Mrs. Albrecht was a member of the First Church United and was instrumental in the organization of the West Liberty Country Club. She was an avid golfer.

She is survived by her husband; 2 daughters, Kathy and her husband, Phil Gingerich, West Liberty and Christine and her husband Mike Fridley, Muscatine; her father, Rex Mackey, Wapello and 4 grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Rescue Unit.
