Memorial services for Martha J. Peters, 89, West Liberty, were held May 6, 1995 at the West Liberty Chapel of Barker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Inurnment was in the Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.

Mrs. Peters died April 28 at her home from a heart condition.

The daughter of Charles and Anna Ocheltree Belgard, she was born Nov. 22, 1905 on the family farm near Tipton. She graduated from Tipton high school. She married Lawrence "Pete" Peters Nov. 14, 1929 in Memphis, Tenn. She had resided in West Liberty since then.

She and her husband owned Peters Pool Hall and Lunchroom in West Liberty, retiring in 1970.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria and her husband, Norman McRoy, North Ft. Myers, Fla.; a son, Ross and his wife Judy Peters, West Liberty; 4 grandchildren, Lee McRoy, Jean Ann Bersch, Scott Peters and Marilyn Reed; 3 great-grandchildren, and a niece, Carolyn Wood, Tipton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.

Memorial may be made to the West Liberty Rescue Unit.
