Funeral services for Pamela J. Westra Hillyer, 25, West Liberty, were held March 10, 1995 at the First Church United in West Liberty, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Mrs. Marianne Phelps was the organist and Darren Brooke sang. Pallbearers were Greg Martin, Chad Grouwinkel, Mike Morrison, Bruce Heckman, Kent Jehle and Chuck Schneider. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.
Mrs. Hillyer died March 7, 1995 at her home in West Liberty, following a lengthy illness.
The daughter of Jerry and Janey Bress Westra, she was born Aug. 28, 1969 in Sibley. She attended Boyden-Hull community school, before moving to West Liberty in the 2nd grade. She graduated from West Liberty high school in 1987 and from AIB in Des Moines in 1989. She married Scott Hillyer Nov. 4, 1989 in West Liberty.
Mrs. Hillyer was employed at Iowa State Bank and Trust Co. in Iowa City, where she was a commercial loan representative. She and her husband owned and operated Hillyer Photography in Tipton.
She was a member of the First Church United in West Liberty and the Circle Friends at the church.
Mrs. Hillyer is survived by her husband; a daughter, Emilee, West Liberty; her parents of West Liberty; a sister, Jodi Kelly, West Liberty; a brother, Steve Westra, Indianola; her grandmother, Lena Bress, Sheldon; her mother-in-law, Shirley Hillyer, Nichols and grandmother-in-law, Gladys Hillyer, Nichols; a niece, Jessice Kelly and 2 nephews, Casey and Alex Westra.
