Last rites for Velma (Mrs. Arthur) Tharp, 84, were held at the Lacock-Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, Sept. 20, 1993 with burial in the Moscow cemetery.

Mrs. Tharp died at Bethesda Care Center, Muscatine, Sept. 17.

Velma Comstock married Arthur Tharp in Muscatine in 1936. The couple grew produce and operated a seasonal roadside market between Moscow and Atalissa until 1961. She also worked at the Henry Ploen and M. J. House groceries, Moscow.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Elva Jean (Mrs. Kenneth) Klyne, New Ulm, Minn.; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
