Jacob (Jake) Martin, Veteran traveling salesman well know known in this part of the state, a resident of Muscatine for more than 30 years, died Tuesday at his home following an attack of diabetes. Deceased was born Dec. 31, 1854, almost 69 yeas ago, at Grandview, Iowa, where he resided until he was 25 years of age. After being engaged in the grocery business at Columbus Junction for 8 years, he moved to Muscatine. He traveled for Mull & Sons, wholesale grocers, for 25 years, retiring 3 years ago when forced to by ill health. He was married to Linda Holliday, January 2, 1875 and she, with two children survive.
