Funeral services for Harold R. Pagel, 65, Roswell, Ga. and formerly of Wilton, were tentatively set to be held July 30, 1991 at the Riley Funeral Home in Muscatine. The organist was Vada Timm. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery, Muscatine, with military rites conducted jointly by the VFW, American Legion and the WWI Veterans Barracks.

Mr. Pagel died July 25 at his home in Georgia.

The son of Eric and Flora Cracker Pagel, he was born Sept. 25, 1925 in Muscatine. He was born and raised in Muscatine and was a resident of Wilton for over 20 years. He moved to Georgia 7 years ago.

Mr. Pagel married Leona Bixby in Muscatine in 1945. He married Betty Atkinson Dec. 4, 1972 in Wilton.

He was a house painter and also did body and fender work for Henderson's Garage in 1947. He later owned and operated a Texaco station. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the Wilton VFW and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Muscatine.

Mr. Pagel is survived by 3 daughters, Connie Burgess, Hiawatha; Sharon Ranard, Cedar Rapids; and Flora (Mrs. Kevin) Ruix, Elmira, N.Y.; a stepson, Everett Wrightsman, Roswell, Ga.; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Kenneth Pagel, Grandview. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Feb. 15, 1991.
