Funeral services for Eleanor Staley, 64, Atalissa, were held July 3, 1991 at the Atalissa Church of Christ, with the Rev. John McCrory officiating. The organist was Mrs. Melinda McCrory. Pallbearers were Steve Brown, Jody Beaver, Bryan Fry, Marty Brown, Aaron Beaver and Jason Fry. Burial was in the Overman cemetery.
Mrs. Staley died June 29 at St. Luke's hospital in Davenport following a long illness.
The daughter of WIlliam and Laura Mueller Lindhorst, she was born July 3, 1926 in Palmer, Kan. She graduated from Atalissa high school and married Robert Staley June 6, 1948 in Wilton.
The couple first lived in Pleasant Prairie and moved to Atalissa in 1950. She had been employed for the past several years in the housekeeping department at Simpson Memorial Home.
She was a member of the Atalissa Church of Christ and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Mrs. Staley is survived by her husband, now living at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport; 3 daughters, Diane Beaver and Sheryl Brown, both of West Liberty and Pamela Fry, Mt. Pleasant; 2 sons, Jeffery and Mark, both of Atalissa; 2 brothers, Loren and Delvin Lindhorst, both of Davenport; a sister, Lorene Zahina, Carmichael, Calif.; her mother, Mrs. Laura Lindhorst, Bettendorf and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and 2 brothers.
