Funeral services for Bernice Brayton, 85, West Liberty, were held July 5, 1991 at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home, with burial at the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mrs. Brayton died July 1 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.

The daughter of William and Florence Boyle Girton, she was born Oct. 14, 1905 near Atalissa. She married Willard G. Brayton Jan. 25, 1933 in West Liberty. He died May 28, 1991.

She is survived by a daughter, Velma Brayton, West Liberty; a son, Kenneth Brayton, West Liberty and 2 grandchildren.
