Funeral services for Willard Gilbert Brayton, 89, West Liberty, were held May 30, 1991 at the West Liberty Chapel of Barker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.

Mr. Brayton died May 28 at his home in West Liberty.

The son of Frank and Stella Gilbert Brayton, he was born May 19, 1902 in Illinois City, Ill. He married Bernice Girton Jan. 25, 1933 at the family home in West Liberty. The couple spent most of their lives farming south of Downey, retiring in 1966.

Mr. Brayton is survived by his wife; a son, Kennth, West Liberty; a daughter, Velma Brayton, West Liberty; 2 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Robert, West Liberty; Herbert, Muscatine and F. Willis, Thornton, Colo. and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Duncan, Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and a brother.

Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Rescue Unit.
