Funeral services for Lolita Brooke, 90, West Liberty, were held Sept. 3, 1987 at the West Liberty United Methodist church, with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Dorothy Carey was the organist and pallbearers were Steve Fisher, Jim Brooke, Don Todd, Walter Lehman, Floyd Bothell and Thomas Brooke. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery.
Mrs. Brooke died Aug. 31 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty following an extended illness.
The daughter of Ernest and Lillian Kirby Kerr, she was born July 12, 1897 in West Liberty. She married Robert Brooke March 1, 1921 in Davenport. She was a member of the United Methodist church, the United Methodist Women, a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a PEO Chapter, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Floriculture club.
Mrs. Brooke was employed as a secretary for Ditmars-Kerr Co., founded by her father and A. H. Ditmars.
She is survived by a son, Robert Brooke, West Liberty; a daughter, Katherine Fisher, Burnsville, Minn.; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a sister, Leota Heath, Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966.
