Funeral services for Opal Maxson, 68, West Liberty, were held July 2, 1987, at the Lacock Funeral Home in Durant, with the Rev. Peter Sickles officiating. Pallbearers were Mark Jepson, Kevin Jepson, Tom Jepson, Jerry Jepson, John Jepson, Patrick Jepson and Al Olderog. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.
Mrs. Maxson died at her home in West Liberty June 29.
The daughter of Arthur and Grace Edna McQuillen Jepson, she was born Feb. 24, 1919 in Rochester. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Stockton Camp. She was a homemaker when the family farmed in the Stockton and Wilton areas for 30 years. Later she provided private care in her home.
Mrs. Maxson is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Michael (Brenda) Hanlin, Davenport and Mrs. William (Fonda) Curtis, Milton, Wis.; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Raymond Jepson and LaVerne "Ike" Jepson, both of Durant and Leroy "Pat" Jepson, West Liberty and one sister, Mrs. William (Shirley) Robb, Durant. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
