Final rites for Mrs. Alexander (Ruth) Carlisle, 94, former Atalissa resident, were held in West Liberty March 18 with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial was in Overman cemetery, Atalissa. Pallbearers were Mark and Marvin Irwin, Thomas Rohner, Richard Carlisle, Kenneth Whyte and Michael Grunder. Mrs. Dorothy Mays was organist.

Mrs. Carlisle died at the Simpson Memorial Nursing home March 15.

The daughter of Henry and Charlotte Larew Sobacoal, she was born in Denver, Colo. April 21, 1890 and spent most of her life in the Atalissa area. She was married to Alexander Carlisle in August, 1909.

She is survived by 3 sons, Cecil, Francis and Thomas, all of Ataissa, a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Whyte, Davenport; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
