Funeral Rites Are Planned for Mrs. E. Wetzel
Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mathias church for Mrs. Emma Wetzel, 78, whose death occurred at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at her home, 517 West Seventh street. The Rev. J.J. Welsh, pastor of the church, will have charge. Buria will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.

The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home and the Rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Wetzel was born May 18,1875, at Muscatine, the daughter of John and Sophia Haacker Hartman. She was a life resident here. Her marriage to Fred Wetzel took place in 1893 in St. Mary’s church. She was a member of St. Mathias church and of the Rosary society of that church.

Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Myrtle Zeug and one brother, Joe Hartman, both of Muscatine. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one brother and four sisters.
