E.J. Zeidler, 90, Taken by Death; Rites Wednesday
Edward John Zeidler, 90, retired Muscatine business man, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Masonic Sanitarium at Bettendorf where he had made his home the past two years.

Mr. Zeidler, a native of Muscatine, had been identified with Muscatine retail business for a period of about 50 years prior to his retirement a number of years ago.

He was born at Muscatine March 19, 1864, being a son of William and Christine Zoble Zeidler and had been a resident of the community for 88 years.

He married Miss Emma Mark Dec. 9, 1897 at Muscatine.

Mr. Zeidler was a member of the Methodist church. He had been a member of Iowa lodge No. 2, A.F. & A.M., Masonic York Rite bodies, Zarephath Consistory, and the Muscatine Elks lodge for more than 50 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Roscoe Slack of Davenport; a brother, Arthur Zeidler of Muscatine, several nieces and nephews and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home by the Rev. A.D. Steffenson of the First Methodist church. masonic rites will be conducted by members of Iowa lodge. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home pending services.
