Funeral services for Mrs. A. H. (Doris) E. Simon, 69, were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church, West Liberty Oct. 9 with Mgsr. Barnes and the Revs. Charles Mann and John Morrissey officiating.

Pallbearers were 10 grandsons, John and Joseph Smith; Steve, Jerry, James and William Simon; Adam, Alan and Rob Feldman and Jeffrey Koenig. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Kline and Jay McMichael. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery. West Liberty. Gerry Ruess was organist and John Ruess soloist. Acolytes were Mike Koenig, Andy Feldman, Duane Pelzer and Mike Buysee. Peter Koenig, son-in-law of Mrs. Simon, recited 3 of Mrs. Simon's favorite poems.

Mrs. Simon died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Oct. 6.

The daughter of Arthur and Ethel Buchwalter Herring she was born at Riverside Jan. 4, 1913. She was married to Adam Henry Simon at Riverside Feb. 16, 1931. The couple farmed in the Atalissa area.

She was a member of St. Joseph's church, the Altar and Rosary society of the church, a Gold Star member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the Union Valley Get-to-Gether club.

She is survived by her husband, 2 sons, John and Joseph; 5 daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Betty) Smith, Mrs. Donald (Jean Anne) Feldman; Mrs. Peter (Patti) Koenig, Mrs. Mike (Mary Sue) Cline and Mrs. Rob (Connie) Black; 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of West Liberty and Atalissa area. Also a brother, Donald Herring, Cedar Rapids and 2 sisters, Mrs. Dale Southwick, Riverside and Mrs. Max Mitchell, Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by a brother.
