Last rites for Dewey DeVore, 79, Atalissa, were held at Wilton Oct. 10 with the Rev. James Brun officiating. Burial was in the Overman cemetery near Atalissa.

Mr. DeVore died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Oct. 6.

The son of Hiram and Martha Tice DeVore, he was born in Atalissa May 1, 1898. He was married to Beryl Arnold in Wilton Sept. 17, 1919. He retired from farming in 1966.

He is survived by his wife, 4 sons, Carol, Muscatine, Donald, Atalissa; Duane, Moscow and Herbert, Wilton; a daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Frances) Jackson, Durant, 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Fred (Eva) Oepping, West Liberty.

He was preceded in death by 2 daughters in infancy, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
