WHITNEY, Texas - Ricky Lyn Cozad, 63, formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Fruitland Community Center. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com .

Ricky was born on December 14, 1958, in Muscatine, the son of Bill Joe Cozad and Betty Cozad Browning. He married Lora Doyle (Small) in 1983, in Muscatine. They later divorced.

He was a lifelong construction worker and a jack of all trades.

Ricky left Muscatine, Iowa back in 1995 and found his new home to be in the warm state of Texas. He liked to remind the rest of us Iowans that he did not miss Iowa winters. Rick loved Texas and it was truly his home. He was a story teller by nature and enjoyed all things outdoors. Rick liked to boat, fish, camp, and spend time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his children, Andrew Wookey, Betsy Banuelos, Jennie Johnson Freiburger, and Heather Cozad; six grandchildren; his mother, Betty Cozad Browning; four siblings, Jack Cozad, Raymond Cozad and wife, Cindy, Bill Cozad and wife, Jennifer, and Carolyn Hidlebaugh; and special friends Terry and Brenda Taylor of Whitney, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Cozad; and two sisters, Sheila Gray and Sara Griffitt.
