Funeral services for Mrs. Phillip Phelps, 70, were held at West Liberty Dec. 17, with the Rev. Harland T. Gant officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at West Liberty.

Mrs. Phelps died at her home in West Liberty Dec. 14, following a heart attack.

The daughter of Walter and Dora Sheppart Smith, she was born in Bennett Nov. 2, 1898 and was married to Phillip Phelps in Davenport in October, 1920.

She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband; a foster son, Joseph of rural West Liberty; a brother, C. Earl Smith, West Liberty, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Vae Larson, Brandenton, Fla., and Mrs. Hazel Crozer, West Liberty.
