Funeral services for Harry John, 81, a lifetime resident of West Liberty, were held Dec. 29 at West Liberty with burial in Oakridge cemetery.

Mr. John died Dec. 26 at the Crestview Nursing home, West Branch where he had been a patient for 10 days.

He was born July 1, 1886 the son of William and Margretha Rolss John. In 1913 he married Mathilda Rock. Following her death he married Elsie Woukey on Jan. 1, 1961.

A carpenter and contractor, Mr. John was a member of the Mount Calvary unit No. 95 of the Masonic Lodge and the Muscatine unit of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie; a stepson, Harold Woukey; 4 brothers, Ralph, Nichols; Raymond, Harlingen, Tex.; Clarence, West Liberty and Robert of North Hollywood, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Chown of Nichols.

Mr. John was preceded in death by his first wife, a brother and a sister.
