Services were held for Frederick Jacob Grunder, 82, Wilton, Tuesday afternoon, July 11, in the Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton. The Rev. Paul Mueller officiated.

Mr. Grunder passed away Saturday, July 8, at Mercy hospital, Davenport, after a short illness. Organist was H. L. Waech. Serving as pallbearers were Leo Grunder, Fred Thurston, Waldo Marolf, Harold W. Grunder, Dale Burr and Leo Marolf.

Mrs. Arthur Sessler and Mrs. Harold Moeller were flower attendants. Ushers were Louis Timmsen and Kenneth Pasvogel.

Burial was in Oakdale cemetery, Wilton, with Griffith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born March 12, 1885, in Muscatine county, he was the son of John and Amelia Bolly Grunder, and was a life resident of the county.

He married Hulda Ketelsen on Feb. 22, 1922 in Cedar county. Mr. Grunder was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Wayne Grunder of Stockton and Marlyn Grunder of Wilton; a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Violet) Petersen of Wilton; a brother, Henry Grunder of Wilton; and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Wacker of Wilton and Mrs. Walter Marolf of Davenport. There are seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and three brothers.
