MUSCATINE-Daniel Lewis, 51, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 1-4 PM at the Fruitland Community Center, 104 Sand Run Road. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine are caring for the family. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Daniel. Daniel Charles Lewis, was born on November I, 1969, in Muscatine, the son of Roger and Mary -Ellen (Ford) Lewis. He was the youngest of four children, and was affectionately called "Danny" by his parents and siblings. He was united in marriage to his best friend, Barbara Slater, on February 18, 2001 after 10 years together. Dan was employed by KAG Merchant Gas and had worked as a professional truck driver for over 25 years. He and Barb drove as a team for the past 16 years and shared many adventures together. His job often kept him away from home. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, restoring cars, tinkering on projects around the house, reading The Bible, spending time with friends, and most of all, being with his family. He also loved to tell stories and jokes and had an infectious laugh. He loved animals, especially dogs and had hoped to someday get another. Dan never stopped planning for the future when he would someday be home for good. He had a kind and gentle soul and was surrounded by people who loved him in his final days.

Daniel will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara of Muscatine; children, Kelsey (Jason) Cortez, Gavin (Courtney) Curtis and Destiny Lewis, all of Muscatine; grandchildren, Leah, Jocelyn, Hayden, Gaige, McKenzey, Kade and Vayda; siblings, Diana (Dr. Jeff) Ingleby of Knoxville, TN, Douglas (Bobbie) Bunn of Muscatine and David (Ronda) Bunn of Florida, mother-in-law, Paula (Jim) Sobolik of Nichols; father-in-law, Eugene (Sandi) Slater of Grandview; sister-in-law, Amanda (Dustin) Crabtree of Nichols; sister-in-law, Angie Brown of North Carolina and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
