William Donham Dies at Nichols

Funeral Services to Be Conducted Friday at 2 p.m. From M.E. Church.

Nichols – William Everett Donham, 71, a resident of Nichols for the past 39 years, died at his home here today at 6 a.m. after a two and a half months illness with complications.
Born Jan. 22, 1865 near Wapello, Mr. Donham later resided in Lone Tree before moving to Nichols. He was a member of the Reformed church at Lone Tree.
His first wife, Miss Carrie Buser, whom he married in Iowa City, Jan. 23, 1885, preceded him in death. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. Belle Heath of Gowrie, Ia., and Mrs. Stella Travis of Detroit, Mich., both of whom survive.
Later, he married Mrs. Minerva Carl Shew, March 21, 1897 in Muscatine.
Surviving are the two daughters, a step-daughter, Mrs. Bertha Nash of Nichols; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Othmer of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. C. V. Wilbert of Chicago; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the home and at 2 p.m. from the Nichols Methodist church with the Rev. V. A. Bloomquist of Columbus Junction, assisted by the Rev. Strong of Nichols, in charge. Burial will be in the Nichols cemetery. The Henry Kirchner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The body will remain at the Donham home.
