Kurt Schreck, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Schreck of Durant, was killed Tuesday evening when the tractor he was riding tipped over.

He had been sent from the field to get water. According to Sheriff Dick Oppelt of Muscatine county, the boy apparently climbed on one of the 2 tractors parked in the orchard and began to drive it in the area.

Muscatine County Medical Examiner Dr. V. W. Swayze said that tire tracks indicated the tractor hit an old bale of hay, turned over and crushed the Schreck boy.

The body is at the Frick funeral home in Durant.
