Michael S. Maxwell, 80, died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday at his home, 1410 Lucas St., following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, Muscatine. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nichols. The body is at the Riley Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 6 this evening.
Michael Maxwell was born Nov. 21, 1894 in Roscommon County, Ireland, the son of Michael and Anne Feeley, Maxwell. He moved to Chicago in 1924 and had been a resident of Muscatine since 1964.

Mr. Maxwell was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Muscatine; Knights of Columbus, Holy Name society and was a retired bank guard.
Surviving are his wife; brothers Bill, Jim, John and Tom, Ireland; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Oates, Ireland.

He was preceded in death by one daughter.
