EDWARD WILBUR NESBIT
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Edward W. Nesbit, 75, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Judy Nesbit. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com .

Edward was born on August 28, 1944, in Muscatine, the son of Charles Wilbur and Hazel Amanda Bell Crabtree Nesbit. He married the love of his life, Judith Ann Birkhofer, on April 8, 1961. They would have celebrated their 59th anniversary on 4/8/2020.

Ed worked for Muscatine Bridge Company as a supervisor for 25 years. He was a member of the Jesus Mission Church for the last 25 years and also served as a board member at the church. Ed was a member of the Local Carpenter's Union.

He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, mushroom hunting, and working on cars. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great joy. He adored his golden retriever, Bella. Most of all, Ed loved going to church.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Nesbit of Muscatine; two sons, Michael Nesbit and Jason Nesbit both of Muscatine; two daughters, Angela (Nesbit) DeLong of Muscatine and Jennifer (Nesbit) Tompkins of Crystal River, FL; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, Roy and his wife, Diane, of Muscatine; and three sisters, Pansy Hayes, Thelma Peterson, and Lilly Johnson all of Muscatine.

He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers LaVerne Nesbit, Leslie Nesbit, Charles Nesbit, Cecil Nesbit, and Marvin Crabtree; and three sisters, Eva Nesbit, Charlene Carlisle, and Rose Ann Snyder.
