Winfield Scott Lone.

Winfield Scott Lone, 1219 Orange street, a veteran of the Civil war and a resident of Muscatine for practically his entire life, died at 2:30 o’clock this morning at Bellevue hospital, following an extended illness. He underwent an operation about three weeks ago and pneumonia set in which proved fatal. He was 73 years old.
The deceased was born on October 17, 1847 in New Albany, Ind., and came to Muscatine with his parents when he was three years old. He served during the Civil war with Company H. 11th Iowa Infantry. He married Mary Shoultz on March 17, 1881, to which union four children were born, one of whom survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Arthur Lone of Muscatine; one step-son, William Cone of Muscatine island; two sisters, Mrs. D. D. Webster of Muscatine and Mrs. C. C. Bovard of La. Center, Wash.; one brother, Benjamin Lone of Muscatine Island, and four grand-children.
Funeral services will be held from the Park Avenue Methodist church at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. The Rev. C. N. Nash will officiate and the G. A. R. will have charge of the services. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral services for Winfield Scott Lone, 1219 Orange street, veteran of the Civil war, and a resident of Muscatine for practically his entire life, who died Tuesday at Bellevue hospital, were held from the Park Avenue Methodist church at 2 o’clock this afternoon. The Rev. C. D. Nash officiated. The G. A. R. had charge of the services. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery.
The pallbearers were John S. Long, Frank Thucher, August Eichoff, James Corbett, Joseph Miller and John Koehler, all members of the G.A.R.
