John Frederick Rosenmund, 76, a resident of Muscatine all his life, died at his home, 511 Main street, at 4:30 a.m. today. Mr. Rosenmund had been in failing health for several months.
Mr. Rosenmund was born in Muscatine county, May 18, 1856, the son of Charles and Catherine Rosenmund. He married Miss Anna B. Nietzel, June 25, 1885. Mr. Rosenmund was a member of Iowa lodge No. 2, Masonic organization, and of the M.W.A. lodge. On Dec. 20, 1931, he received his 50 year membership certificate from the Masonic lodge. He had also been a member of the Elks lodge until recent years.
Surviving are his widow; one son, George C. Rosenmund; one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Kuebler; two grandchildren, Bernice and Robert Kuebler; two brothers, Charles and Louis Rosenmund, all of Muscatine.
The body is at the George Wittich Funeral Home, 201 Cedar street and will remain there until Saturday morning when it will be returned to the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home by the Rev. John Blough, pastor of the Mulford Congregational church. Services at the grave in Greenwood cemetery will be in charge of Iowa lodge No. 2.
